Ed Gein was completely obsessed with his mom, just like Norman Bates. And when Augusta Gein passed away from a stroke, it hit Ed like a ton of bricks. But instead of dealing with his grief in a normal way, Ed went off the deep end.

He refused to believe that his mother was gone for good. It was like he was dead set on bringing her back, no matter what. So what did he do? He started killing middle-aged women and snatching up bodies from the local graveyard.

Why? To make this freaky woman’s suit so he can become his mom. Well, it’s even more messed up than it sounds. Here is the story.

On the first day of hunting season in November 1957, tragedy came to Plainfield, Wisconsin. 58-year-old Bernice Worden, beloved mother of a sheriff’s deputy and owner of the local hardware store, was missing. Disappeared right out of the store.

It took ages for anyone to realize she was gone. Finally, after a long day of hunting, her son went by the store around 5, but his mom was nowhere in sight. And worse, the cash register was missing and a trail of blood led out the back.

A forgotten receipt for antifreeze on the counter jogged his memory. The night before, a bachelor farmer, Ed Gein, came into the store and mentioned he’d swing by for antifreeze the next morning. So the deputy…
